Greetings, lovely readers!
Though it's been quite some time since I've posted anything here, a very special surprise calls for a return to the blogosphere. You see, a little over one year and 8 months ago, I made horrendously dry chicken alfredo that changed my life forever.
What could be so special about 20-month-old Italian food? Nothing really. What is extraordinary, rather, is the man I served it to (who was gracious enough to actually eat it). This is a man who will drive 550 miles on a weekday just to surprise you. This is a man who will tell you to dress to the nines for an evening out, only to present you with a candlelit dinner for two from his own kitchen.
This is a man who values hard work and, when he sets his mind to a task, can accomplish seemingly anything. This is a man to whom learning new things is a challenge and a pleasure, and hard times are when strength is needed most. This is a man who knows me better than I know myself and treasures even the cracks and fissures at the heart of me.
This is a man who has probably already guessed my entire plan and who knows exactly where this hunt leads.
This is a man who everyday I endeavor to deserve and who deserves his own little surprises every now and again. And so, dear readers, I have chosen this avenue for my (very) public display of affection and as one of the many stops on his cyber scavenger hunt.
If you're reading this, my love letter to you, then you'll soon be at the end. <3 My last clue is a letter of a different sort. Not as romantic as escargot, but much easier to consume at work. ;)
Here's a hint if you need it.
